therapy in college park & maryland
This shit is hard. Life. Work. Adulting. Caregiving. The dumpster fire of the whole world right about now. All of it. Somehow, miraculously, you’ve still got your head above water. But, if you feel like the water line is creeping up and you’re about to go under, I’ve got you.
I’ve been in the therapy world for over 20 years, mostly in the College Park, Maryland area, and I’ve seen a lot. So, I’m ready for you. Not much is going to shock me, but I’m still openhearted to really get how much distress you are in, how DONE you are, when you finally decide to reach out for help. And I care deeply for all the folks in my care. My experience hasn’t jaded me, and I consider it an immense privilege to work with folks in their times of difficulty and times of triumph.
Most people want, more than almost anything, to be deeply seen, understood and cared for. That kind of connection can allow us to feel safe enough to open up, say the things we have feared saying, ask for more, and be ready for assistance and help. It’s way more than a checklist inventory, way more than interacting with an AI bot, because you need more than validation. You need real help.
If you want your today to be better, and your tomorrows to be exponentially better, I am here for it. I am here for the practical skills and tools to help your mind, body and nervous system to feel more regulated and settled today. And I am absolutely here for the deep healing for all of your tomorrows, when you can embrace what you want, dream bigger, ask for what you need, connect with others in a healthy way, and be your own ride-or-die partner for life.
Working with me
There isn’t a formula or protocol for treatment with me. You are one-of-a-kind, and you deserve one-of-a-kind treatment. My therapy toolbox is vast. We will definitely talk. Deeply, but at your pace. And we will likely laugh, sometimes even in the hard times. But we can do so much more, if you are interested.
We could use clinical hypnosis for deep relaxation or new insights. We can tune into what’s happening with your body when you experience anxiety, sadness or confusion, and use that as a path for change. We can learn and practice meditation skills accessible to anyone (or go deeper into this if you’ve already got a starting place). We can use art, music, movement, and about a zillion other ways of being human together to help you really understand and feel your thoughts and emotions. And, THEN, empower you to gently, kindly, work with them to get where you want to go.
I’m legit (here’s the boring proof):
Once you get beyond the vibe check on the search for a therapist, you want to make sure that, whoever you are going to work with, knows what they are talking about. In addition to the experience of being a human on this planet for a bunch of decades now (looking at you, AI therapy bots), I’ve got a wide variety of clinical knowledge. For the past 20+ years, I’ve been sharpening my tools and always looking for more ways to help my clients get the results they want. I have training and skills in:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Clinical Hypnosis
Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Mindfulness and Meditation
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills
Treatment for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors
JourneyDance
Somatic Therapy

Parts work (Jungian/IFS/etc)
